After breakfast, explore the Giza Plateau with your private guide, including the world-famous pyramids and the Sphinx. Afterwards you will visit the new Grand Egyptian Museum in Giza. Lunch on the way in a traditional restaurant. Return to the hotel and overnight in Cairo.

Today you will visit the Church of St. Mary in Maadi. Then continue to the Hanging Church, the Church of St. Sergius, the Church of St. George and the Babylon Fortress in Old Cairo, which was crossed by the Holy Family. Lunch and overnight stay in Cairo.

Visit to the Matariya district with the famous Marian tree, under which the Holy Family rested. Jesus is said to have produced a spring there. Continue to the Church of St. Mary in Zeitoun, with impressive icons by Italian artists. Overnight in Cairo.

After breakfast, drive to Wadi El Natrun (approx. 120 km north of Cairo), an important place in Egypt’s Christian history. Visit four historic monasteries:

– Anba Bishoy Monastery

– Baramus Monastery

– Abu Makar Monastery

– El-Suryan Monastery

Picnic lunch and return journey. Overnight in Cairo.

After breakfast, drive along the coast to the monasteries of St. Anthony and St. Paul. These date back to the 4th century and are spectacularly situated on the cliffs of the eastern desert. Then continue to El Minya, dinner and overnight stay.

In the morning, drive to the “Mountain of Birds” (Jabal Al Tair), where there is a cave where the Holy Family used to rest. Then visit the rock tombs of Beni Hasan – fascinating tombs from the Middle Kingdom with depictions of everyday and military life. Return and overnight stay in El Minya.

Visit to the necropolis of Tuna El-Gabal (e.g. tomb of Isadora, priestly tomb of Pet-Osiris) and Al-Ashmunia with its open museum, Babylonian statues and basilica church. Continue to Assiut. Visit to the Al-Muharraq monastery, where the Holy Family stayed for six months. Overnight stay in Assiut.

Visit to the Miar rock tomb complex, approx. 8 km west of the monastery. The tombs date from the 6th and 12th dynasties and are particularly well preserved. Return to Cairo and overnight stay.

After a final, quiet breakfast, the gentle farewell begins – not only to a country, but perhaps also to an inner journey that began during these days. Egypt has not only welcomed you with its history, sun and vastness, but also with its silence, its dignity and a tangible spiritual depth.
